What does Workers Compensation Insurance cover?

Workers Compensation Insurance is intended to cover medical expenses and rehabilitation costs associated with a work related injury. It includes benefits payable to employees who are injured and or incapable of working, such as:

• Employees’ wages
• Cost of medical expenses
• Treatment expenses
• Rehabilitation costs to return to work

Workers Compensation is compulsory in Australia for all businesses that employ workers on a full-time, part-time, casual basis, temporary, some contractor services, and apprenticeship. Each state and territory have their own governing body and different rules in place.
